Welcome to The Music Stand Foundation...
We all know that music education programs are deeply valued in K-12 schools throughout the United States, even throughout the world. Music education is supported in public education by all constituents-- students, parents, educators, administrators, boards of education, and principals. Over the past six years, through research and ongoing conversations, the focus of The Music Stand Foundation has been to consider the system of budget allocation for K-12 music in public school districts, to look at its history, and to discuss possibilities for eliminating inconsistency. The importance of this is not only to strengthen the amount of time every student receives with music teachers, but to ensure consistent delivery and building of programs over time.
